Downloading and installing Linux
I down load mandriva-linux and I need to burn it to CD to load it on my PC but I can not remember how to copy it to cd so that it will boot from that cd on my other computer. I did it years ago and have forgotten what to do and I want to get back into using linux. If anyone can advise how to copy linux to a bootable cd so that I can install it on my other pc would be a big help. Thanks
Hello All I beleive that I found out what I was doing wrong - which is I have to burn the download as an image to a cd/dvd. Trying right now will add to this post if it does not work..... |
what's up, and welcome to LQ!
What linux distro are you using now, or are you on Windows? If in Linux I suggest "k3b", use dao, burn at slowest speed(8x?), and click the button that says- "burn cd image". In windows "imgburn" is a freeware app that is good. |
