downloading


i must be a complete idiot cause when i try to download in linux, the files end up getting corrupted; mainly source codes for various apps. help... thanks in advance

what makes you think they are corrupted ?? what happens when you download them and try to unpack/install them ??

i get this error with trying to tar -zxvf


gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returened status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors




I'll dfownload from the exact same link in win2k and it'll work fine

it's possibly not actually a gzipped file, try dropping the z

i dunno why people keep doing that, it's so lazy and annoying, if it's not a tar.gz it shouldn't be called it!!!!
