Download stall question.

I was downloading an ISO image and it got stalled. I tried to resume downloading from two other mirrors. In both cases these cases the download was stalled again. It says unknown time remaining. What could the problem be ? Thanks.

what kind of connection do u have? are u using a download manager to download stuff? Download stall could be due to your getting disconnected from the net..

I have a 56k connection. I usually download using a browser. I have donwloaded several files in the past without problems. I also tried to resume using Gftp
I also tried to start downloading a different file all of them stalled. I checked my connection everything is OK. Wonder why ?

I have been downloading a lot. Can my ISP block downloads for some reason ? Thanks

isp's usually dont block downloads..not on 56k connection anyway. Use someother download manager..I used wget when I had 56k..worked great for me.

I have only 92.7 MB free and wish to download just another 30 Megs or so. Do you feel that I am close to some kind of limit ? Should I delete some files and then try to resume downloading ?

you may try that although I doubt that could make your downloads stall

Linux is better than windows however no system must be pushed to its limits. THat is what I did by downloading and reducing greatly the amount of free space.
Deleting and making some space solved the issue.

The md5sum of this file didn't match. So I hae restarted this download. Is it possible that if during download of the same file, mirrors are changed, there
can be errors ? Thanks.

anything is possible...check md5 sum to be sure.
Cool
