Download Manager for Linux?
Howdy,
Can anyone recommend a download manager for linux (a program that allows pausing, resuming and scheduling of downloads)? Unfortunately, GetRight doesn't come in Linux flavors... Thanks so much for your help. |
I am sure you could have googled for this and also find
a good list of zindoze linux equivalent, one of this long list is on LQ. Anyhow, if you find it post it here, too late, here it is: http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-l...en/table.shtml In the meantime d4x, getleft see also http://www.krasu.ru/soft/chuchelo/ aria I have not tried any of these. Let me know which one you found best |
I believe Linix has already download managers in it.
Gnome - gwget KDE - Kget |
I've used D4X (Downloader 4 X), which is GTK2 based.
You can get it from: http://www.krasu.ru/soft/chuchelo/download.php3 It's fairly stable; crashes sometimes. |
If you run KDE, start by trying KGet - you'll probably find it has all the features you need. Certainly it has pipelining and pause/resume (if the server supports resuming - most do), plus a drop-target a la FlashGet/GetRight.
This is just a GUI for the GNU downloader WGet, so I expect the GNOME equivalent has all these functions too. |
