download iptables


where are the sites so that i can download a latest iptables?can you tell me?thanks

iptables installation

here is my iptables: iptables-1.3.7.tar.bz2....don't know how to start installing, can ou show me?thanks

Extract the files from the archive with "tar xjvf iptables-1.3.7.tar.bz2" (the options are: x for extract, j for filtering through bzip2 (since you have a bzipped file, v for verbose output (tells you what it's doing, optional) and f to specify the file), which will create a directory (probably called iptables-1.3.7, but may be something else). You can then cd into that directory and check if there's a README file or an INSTALL file that gives you instructions.
