Double network speed with net bonding of 2 LAN cards

Hi,

At my setup we have a 1 gig switch & server's LAN card supports 1 gig.

Currently while transferring data, max speed that i get is 35 MBS.

Its very slow compared to my requirement.

Is there a way, were in i can bond 2 network cards & double the current speed.

Theoretically, although performance depends on a good deal more than just your network cards: file system, file system parameters, hard drives, RAID or not, protocol, etc.

"Improve"? Maybe.

"Double"? No.

Benchmark your current performance (be sure to sample well enough to get an accurate profile of both a) I/O saturation, and b) CPU saturation), then

Add your second NIC, try "bonding", and run the same benchmarks in the new configuration.

Please post back the results!
