i'm assuming you actually have kde 3.2 running.

go to "configure your desktop", "look and feel"

there you can pick what aspect of the theme you want. there is usually an option to install new... just browse to the file you downloaded, and if it's compatible, new eyecandy.

from what i remember, there might not be an option for a complete theme, just peice by peice.

you could try and make a directory : /home/you/.kde/share/themes , and unpack the file there. that worked in 3.1, so it can't hurt to try.

when i was installing mandrake it said that it was installing kde 2.4, but i have checked and it is 3.2 although i still cant get the themes to work, is there anyway to install the theme completely, so that you can select themes easily like on mandrake move

mandrakemove still has kde3.1
i'm not sure yet if kde removed the "theme" option, or if it's a mandrake thing

themes were just a combination of choosing colors, style, and window decorations (sometimes icons)
you can still change all those.

what "theme" do you want to install?

i downloaded one called alien glow, and would like to, install it, but i would realy just like the option to install themes at will

you have to make sure that the theme is for kde 3.2

some recent ones like 3.1 may work, but older 1.x and 2.x are not likely to
