well, what graphics card have you got? and the rest of the system spec would be helpful if you want an answer.

run Xconfigurator, assuming it's not Xconfig. and try to get it running with that. try a generic vga card rather than your own one perhaps.

Specs

733 mhx pentium 3
512 mb
22gb
nvidia geforce 2
17 inch viewsonic g773
40x cd-rom
so i mean its the slower out of my two computers but its not like 486 it runs all games and programs thanks

assuming your mobo isn't anything gonky, then there's no reason tha X won' work. i'm running the same card as you, and you'll initially want to use the 'nv' driver, which i think is just listed in the hardware list as a generic geforce card. like i said, run Xconfigurator or xf86setup to get started. if you can give us proper actual problems to help you with we will. but X WILL run really well on it.

eventually you'll possibly want to get teh closed nvidia drivers which have GL support. from nvidia.com that's later tho.

I ran Xconfiguatror and it give me and X server error in a probing mode? I dont know whats up with that either

What mobo?

THe gfx card and monitor should be supported, what about your Mobo?

I'm not familiar with SuSe, but is there any app you can use to see X? Like in RH and MDK, you can test configurations upon install, and later.

Have you EVER seen X on your PC?

Also... setting resolution too high or demanding too high bits can also cause errors.... possibly.

I also assume xinit doesn't work?
