dont know how to configure my net connection for SLAX live cd
 

Hi i am new to linux.I just got my Slax live cd, it works perfectly fine but i cannot seem to connect to the net using slax. I have not done anything to configure my modem setting or anything please help me out......

* i am not exactly a comp wiz
* i have limited experience with linux

It's not clear from your question exactly how you need to connect to the internet. But since you mentioned modem, you probably need to configure SLAX for a point-to-point connection using KPPP (usually under K > Internet > KPPP).

It's also possible to setup a Modem connection, just run kppp in KDE, it will start a wizard. The only one thing you should know is that your modem device is /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/tts/0 (both for COM1), or /dev/ttyS1 or /dev/tts/1 (for COM2), etc.

If you are using ADSL then you could try adsl-setup and adsl-start program. If you are using wireless connection, try iwconfig.

And finally, if you're using a winmodem, you'll need to install drivers for it, here's a sample of what will be involved:
