You can choose the keywords from your problem (Kubuntu, update KDE 4.5.4, dependencies, ...) to name a meaning title. I suggest you read the "smart questions".

Ops i didn't see the second page of the thread.
I handle tha hdd... at least i think so i finaly formated it with "drive works" from system commander (or system collection) live cd...
everytime i tryed to erase the data ot format the hdd the program crash at sector 244439995 in clusterr.. i don't remmember... whatever i erese everything with systemrescuecd then again format it with drive works and this time process continue afteer this sector and finaly hdd is formated :P the clusters with bad sectors are marked as bad but i'm afraid that linux will not recognize the bad sectors so i will get one 20 or 30gb hdd from my friend to install linux in it i have 5 broken hdd's (believe me they are really broken ) and know that one hard is not fully broken if doesn't make scratchy noise i think the hdd will work for now at least for keeping some big data and put some windows in it but will install linux in other ATA hdd
Thanks for your compassion i love this forum ;P
from where you come from? If it doens't work may be will send you the hdd

floopy1962, in this LQ post you said your failed drive is 3 months old. Isn't it under warranty?

Yes -- definitely from another store! Your warranty should still be valid.

To have two WD HDDs fail in three months is unusual. WD are usually a good brand. Is it possible that you are getting non-genuine WD HDDs or ones that have failed quality control tests or been returned under warranty by another customer?

Another possibility is that your electricity supply is poor but computer PSUs do a good job of cleaning it up so that is less likely unless you have a bad PSU.

I don't think the fault lies in "WD" but whatever in my country this is normal
