don't see NIC card after install


hi!
please tell me how can i install my NIC card in Fedora core 4 or suse pro 9.1.
the problem is : after i installed FC4 or Suse pro 9.1 in my PC. system don't detect the NIC card ( NIC: realtek 8169/8110 ). i try download driver on REALTEK website and installed, but it still not work.

post what ifconfig shows and dmesg -tail 50

ifconfig -a
it show only interface of lo and sit0 :

lo Link encap:local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
....

sit0 Link encap:IPv6-in-IPv4
.....

and when i check modules.conf -> nothing inside file.

Looks like fedora is not seeing the card at all, meaning it's not getting power from the board or it's a bad nic card. Try using another slot on the motherboard. if still nothing try another nic card.

have u try use lspci to check whether there is any pci network card detect in your computer?
