don't like the blurried fonts

Hi,

I don't like the way fonts are displayed in mandrake and redhat too. They seem to be blurried on the sides. It is like True Type on windows xp. It really bothers me and would really like to have this off.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance,

Roland

If you're using KDE (you're using that or GNOME,) you can turn off anti-aliasing (that's what font blurrying is called) by starting the Control Center, opening up Appearance & Themes, and going to Fonts. In the fonts control panel dialog, you should see a checkbox that says "Use anti-aliasing for fonts." Turn it off, hit apply and you're done.

I haven't used GNOME, but I imagine it has a similar option.
