don't know how to install thunderbird

don't know how to install thunderbird, (or anything else) I've installed slako puppy 5.3.3 (to me it looks great)by watching a video.
I download thunderbird-14.0.tar.bz2, left click and Xarchive0.2.8-6 opens,
1- do I extract all or part?
if I select all and extract, enter directory to extract to: opens, /tmp
is in blue
2- do I need to add anything or just click ok
3- what is next (a few hints)
will someone hold my hand and lead me?

There should be an icon called something like "Install Pets" on your desktop that can be used to install software, I think Thunderbird is under the Internet section. Apologies, I can't be much more help as my puppy install is no more.
