Unhappy Does Windows 8 mess up Linux install?

I would like to know whether Windows 8 does mess up a linux install in regard to Grub or the boot up process? The subject matter is Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E125

This is the process to reproduce the error.

1. Brand new laptop
2. Linux installed fine and properly functioning for many months
3. Wipe off Linux and install Windows 8 for the entire drive.
4. Wipe off Windows 8 and install many flavors of Linux, and as far as I've tried all of them have issues regarding the booting up process, such as some sort of grub error or operating system not found.

Sorry for not being specific since I haven't made a note of the error message, but the gist of the question is, does the Windows 8 install somehow mess of with the harddrive partition rendering Linux unbootable. Linux used to work on this machine fine prior I introduce Windows to it.

Thank you.

The only thing that would make Linux unbootable is SecureBoot. Otherwise they should (comwhat) happily coexist, although you'd have to turn SecureBoot on and off for most distros.

Have you made sure you're using an EFI compatible version of grub?
