does anyone know good any media players for ubuntu?

hello to all,

i have been a windows user for years because the programs i use (i've learned to use) dont exist for linux o.s. but i have decided to get away from windows (as much as i can at least). to be honest i am very impressed with linux (ubuntu).

i was wondering if anyone could tell me a good media player for ibuntu. i have tried vlc player and mplayer but the video is jaggy. i tried the same file on windows gom player and the video worked just fine. as you understand i had to watch the movie through windows.

if anyone knows any media player for ubuntu i would be very grateful.

thank you in advance
stelios

Of course.
For music playing you can try out amarok, audacious or banshee. For playing movies try out xine (install package xine-ui) or any player based on it.
You can also check this site out for more linux applications and descriptions for them.
