documentation missing !!
Greetings,
I downloaded and installed debian from http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/#stable The .iso size was 650 MB approx. Where can I find the source code(packages) and documentation as /usr/src subdirectory is empty. Is it because of basic installation?? Help will be appreciated. Cheers!! |
debianD,
Which CD did you install from? I personally use the net install image located here: http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/...86-netinst.iso. You may have downloaded just a portion of the full install CD set. I'll keep an eye on this post. Shawn |
Most documentation and sources around installed by default, I believe.
You can add source repositories to your /etc/apt/sources.list file. Typically you only download the sources you need by doing apt-get source packagename. Here's a link to working with source packages in Debian. What documentation are you looking for? A good help site? Or some specific guide? Debian's website has a lot of their documents in html or pdf format that you can download. A good help site is aboutdebian.com. |

Couldn't find anything in the above path. How would I know the source is installed or not? Cheers!! |
