DNS server on CentOS 6.5

Hi,

I tried to install (just for learning) DNS server at home. I have two laptops with CentOS 6.5 master-host1 and slave-host2 connected to the same rooter. Everything seems be working fine. I check the installation using commands ping, nslookup etc according to the manual: http://ostechnix.wordpress.com/2013/...c-linux-6-3-3/.
The only problem is that when I use on slave-host2 command:

ping host1.doamin it works
but
ping www.google.com (gives me something like unknow host).

On master-host1 everything is working fine. Any suggestions are welcome.

Best wishes,

Lilka

You could start by posting your named.conf files and any zone files.
Also, the EXACT error msg.
Also 'nslookup www.google.com' & post the results

Thank for your reply, but my master laptop is broken (something with Ethernet socket) and have to repair it first and will be back to the subject.

Best wishes,

Lilianna
