DNS problem


Hi, can anyone help me, i have been trying to setup a internet
connection for a while, but i just cant,

It doesnt have a dhcp server so it has a static ip, ok,
i typed the number, and the gateway, but,
i belive that the dns has to go in /etc/named.conf in the
part of forwarders, but when i try after doing all the changes it just
doesnt work , if any one could help me,
please

put nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf
