DNS prob lem

hi all
I have configured a small test lab of one DNS master server (with forward and reverse zones) and 8 client-side computers . the domain is example.com , I have also configured a DHCP server . every thing is right and working smoothly except when i try use(dig or host say comp1.example.com ) from any client it's not working ( from server side it's ok ) .I checked the hosts file and it gets info from DHCP , nsswitch.conf ,....etc I guess that there is something is missing but I cant get it.
I want some assistance to complete this lap to migrate it to production arae
Thanks
