Distro That Used Movie Character Names for Releases?

This was at least 5 years ago and long before I knew much about linux (I just knew it was used on servers). Anyway, a friend who was very knowledgeable with computers would mention about experimenting with linux desktop. At the time I assumed it was way over my head so I never bothered looking into it.

The only thing I remember was he would say "so and so" distro just came out and he really liked it. And, the one he would talk about the most was using a movie's characters names as the version ID. I think it was an animated movie (Toy Story?).

Now that I am using linux I am curious what distro it was and if it still exists or morphed into something else. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone here? I have since lost touch with him.

Debian's release names use characters from Toy Story.

Thanks for the replies and solving the mystery. It's funny that now the word "debian" is very well known to me, but it didn't ring a bell at all as to what he had said.
