Distro For Pre-Intel Mac?

I still have an old Pre-Intel PowerPC Mac lagtop in a desk drawer, and was wondering if I could run a Linux Distro on it?
If there are multiple options, I'd also like some opinions on the best choice.

Debian has a powerpc port that apparently works very well.

1) Yes you can run a Linux distro on it. How much RAM have you got?

2) Look at e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerPC for several distros

Yellow Dog Linux is only for the powerpc. CentOS, Debian, and Ubuntu also support it.

Point your browser at distrowatch.com. Click on Search on the top right side of the page. Scroll down to the search criteria and click on the Architecture dropdown list. Select powerpc then scroll down and click on Submit Query. When the next page displays, scroll down past the search criteria to get to the returns. There are 18 distros listed there for powerpc.
