distro decisions

im curently using ubuntu...or well im trying to use it but having wireless issues i hope to have solved soon. i have heard about a few of the other distros out there and am wondering which to go with. ive heard of mandriva and LMINT as well as suze and "cookie" (not sure of the spelling on that one) i tried to check out mandriva but the only source i could find for it wanted 30 bucks for it and im not sure if i fel like paying for an open source system. what is your reccomendations for what is better. i have heard that mandriva is the most graphically polished out there and easiest to use.

There is no "better". You simply have to try and see what you like.

Mandriva is free from mandriva site for the Free and One versions - Powerpack is chargeable
Have used various versions for a number of years and I particularly like the installation and updates - not too technical
