Displaying "free disk space" in GNOME 3.8's Nautilus

Hello again everybody,

I tried out Ubuntu GNOME 13.04 in a VM yesterday and installed GNOME 3.8 according to the guide by OMG!Ubuntu. Now, the first thing I noticed was that there doesn't seem to be a "Status Bar" in the Nautilus windows anymore, which shows information about the file(s) currently selected in that windows and/or info about the free disk space... I also found no way of enabling that status bar again through the "preferences" menu of Nautilus or the "customise view" option.

Has the status bar been completely cut out of Nautilus in GNOME 3.8 or am I just to stupid to find it? ^^

Thank you all in advance for answers!

Greetings,

rokyo

I think that bar is gone from the new Nautilus, however you can right click on the middle of a nautilus window and select properties from there, that will show you the available free space in your files.

The guys at Linux Mint had developed this other file browser called Nimo. I think that browser shares some of the funtinality from the old nautilus but I am not sure how to install it in Ubuntu.

Good luck to you.
