Display resolution error

Hey,
I recently got a new Dell Inspiron 8500. It has a Geforce 4 go in it. I'm dual booting XP and RedHat 9. At the install only geForce 4 (generic) was available so I picked that. Its a 64mb card and the resolutions I can pick are alright. The main resolution is 1280x1024 but it doesn't take up the entire screen. If I go any higher up then the screen is to long and I can't see the redhat icon to get to all my programs. The program bar is below the screen. What can I do to fix this problem?

Thanks,
David

Have you tried adjusting your actual monitor settings (the buttons on the monitor itself) and also tried tweaking your refresh rates (be VERY careful when doing this)? You can fine tune your display with those 2 tools to create the best looking desktop.

Cool

Change the resolution to 800x600

Actually I've got the same problem. I believe it is a problem of your resolution. As Skyline suggested, have you tried other resolutions?
