Display problem text extremely small

I am moving from Red Hat 9.0 to Mandrake 9.2 and I am having a probelm.

I am installing Mandrake 9.2 as I write this.

When it comes to the display setup I have a probelm.

I am using onboard video on my MSI KM4M-L board.

I specify my monitor KDS AV-7T, and vesa video.

I go to test it and I get a window with two options but the text is so small I cannot read it. it looks like a bunch of periods close together.

I treid setting the resolution at different settings.

Is there a way to remedy this?

I tried Mandrake Move and I had the same problem on this system.
I used Mandrake Move on my windows box and everything works fine.

Am I in need of a seperate video card?

Here is the link to the motherboard (MSI)

Thanks in Advance

Hello,

Can you be more specific on the symptoms?

Maybe the pb you have is the same as mine? (see thread " How can I solve this random Font Size problem? " in SlackWare forum).

Yesterday I tryied to solve my random "tiny fonts" problem using what is said in the 10 first posts of the following thread:

which I found very interesting, but without success.
I've just had a look at this thread. And you know what, the new posts are on such a "tiny fonts" problem. So I suggest you have a look at it. It might help...
As to me, I will read it through right now.

See you.
Sylvain.

I am re-visiting this problem as I install Mandrake 10.

I have figured it out now.

In 9.2 when the system boots, it corrects itself, but in 10 it does not.

I decided to reinstall and i chose to install the 100pt fonts also, so the text is small, but legible. Now I just have a little tweaking to do.
