distro, is short for distribution, which basically is the version of Linux that you are using.

Thanks For That..

That I Had No Idea What It Was =)

I am not suprised. I had the same problem with Debian, no matter what I did, I just couldn't get the xserver to work properly. Eventually I ran Knoppix and copied the /etc/X11/XF86Config to the Debian partition and it suprisingly worked. I don't know if running xf86config will help you.

That one...

the xf86config did i find out that i should try to run, but that did'nt make anny dfifrens...

What did u say about copy "/etc/X11/XF86Config to the Debian partition"...

Do u got any tips how i can do that ??

reddazz 01-05-2005 11:03 AM

I ran knoppix (mepis may also do) coz of it's hardware detection, copied the /etc/X11/XF86Config (or maybe it's /etc/X11/XF86Config-4) to the same directory as the Debian partition. Another method would be to copy it to a floppy, then when you boot into Debian copy it from the floppy to /etc/X11/ directory of Debian.
