Disable system beep in emacs?

Well the title says it all: I want to diable the system beep in emacs. It pretty annoys me that whenever I reach the end of the buffer this bell beeps... it is also not good if you're in a lecture and try editing the file, I just avoided being thrown out of the lecture by shutting down the notebook...

Anybody has an idea on how to achieve this?

Add the following to your .emacs:

(setq visible-bell t)

or add the following to your .xinitrc (assuming your using X-windows):

xset b off

Thank you, disabling pcspkr module didn't work. Now people around me hear ni beeps.
