Directory Sizes
 

I am planning installation of Redhat Fedora Core 1. How can I find out what the size of the various directories would be if I were to install everything? I think this would help me in determining how big I need to make some of my partitions.

Everything depends on what you want to use/install. For people new to linux, there is no reason not to just have one big root partition, and/or have a root and a /home/.

No need to complicate your life. Once you learn a bit, then partition all you want.
