Unhappy Directory shares not working

I have 3 computers networked at home; 1 laptop and 2 desktop machines. The laptop and 1 desktop only have Jaunty installed (I just couldn't take XP on the laptop anymore, and Windows 7 beta wasn't doing it for me on my bedroom PC). My main computer in my home office has XP and Jaunty installed. I rarely use XP on it anymore, since I've gotten used to the speed of Ubuntu.

My problem is that I have a lot of files on my main PC that are on the XP side that I'd like to share with the other 2 PC's. All of my searching for solutions on sharing have to do with Samba, but I don't have any Windows machines connected on the network. I've been able to install the software to share my ~/Public directory, but all attempts to share any other directory, be it on the file system or one of my windows drives, have failed. Any suggestions?

If I follow you, you have 2 x Linux + 1 x dual boot.
The dual boot is running Linux, but you want to access files in the MS partition?

1. on the dual boot, mount the MS partition using ntfs-3g (assuming its ntfs filesystem).
http://linux.die.net/man/8/mount

2. you can then use Samba or NFS to share files amongst the Linux systems. NFS is probably simpler and more Unixy soln.
