Different between Redhat ES & AS


Hi

Any one can tell plz what is the different between Redhat ES & AS version 3 & 4

Now the difference between 3 and 4 would be packages and applications. 4 of course is newer and is more up-to-date!

The major difference between 3 and 4 is the kernel tree. RHEL 3 is based on 2.4 kernel while RHEL 4 is based on 2.6.

Now as for the difference between ES and AS I was told by one of my past Reps. from Red Hat that it really is just a matter of how much support you pay for. ES support costs less and AS costs more, but you get quicker turn around and more assurances that things will be resolved sooner. That has all gone away with RHEL 5 as they have done away with the ES and AS badges all together.
