Diff linux distros wont boot

I'm sorta still a newbie at linux, i have soem experience though. Recently i've been building a new computer. I checked all hardware, and they all work, but whenever i successfully install linux, it won't boot. At the very beginning where lilo or whatever should kick in, all it does is show the black screen with a flashing white _ . I've installed SuSe, DeLi, Slackware, RH, and Lindows, all say installed successfully, but none will boot. I recently got FreeBSD to work, but no other distro will. The comp is a 350mhz PII with 92mb Ram and a 4.2gb HDD. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Only thing I can think of is to check the BIOS settings for the hard disk.

Your 92MB of RAM _should_ be enough for Slack, but I'm supprised the others would even install. You might try Yoper.

try this

You may need to erase (or rather replace) the master boot record before installing your Linux. I've found that the lilo tends to get messed up otherwise.
Just boot your computer with your windows95\98 or MSDOS boot disk and issue the command:

A:\> fdisk /mbr

Then when you install your lilo to the master boot record, it won't get messed up.

Hope this helps.
