Dial up in Ubuntu

Hi, I'm dual booting XP/Ubuntu 7.04 Fiesty fawn, But my problem is in Ubuntu. I can't seem to connect to the intnet through phoneline.

My modem is detected, its a Conextant 56K modem.

Is this a driver problem?

Thanks.

Is your wired network connection set to use dial up? I believe it defaults to DSL.
You can find your network settings under:

System
|_Administration
|_Network

Hope this helps.

You can download the free Linuxant driver to verify it works. The free driver is limited.
I have used this driver for one modem and the modem worked great when the Linuxant driver was installed.
