DHCP errors on Suse FTP Install

I just downloaded the newwest copy of the boot.iso from suse and made the cd and tried to do an FTP install of suse.

This is a brand new computer that I have win XP Pro loaded on for the sake of having an OS to use for the moment.

AMD 64bit Athlon 3000 processor
512MB PC3200 DDRAM
nVidea Geforce FX 5200
Soundblaster Live 128 PCI
Lite-on 451 DVD-RW
NEC CD-RW
WD 2500J 250Gig HD

The board I'm using has an onboard sis900 Fast Ethernet adaptor. It doesn't really like to work apparently as I can't use it in windows and had to infact install a secondary ethernet card into the machine just to get online. Currently I'm connected through a Linksys LNE100TX 10/100 NIC. Also in a seperate PCI slot I've got an SMC EZ SMC1211TX 10/100 NIC.

Out of those three you'd think that I could get one to do a proper automatic DHCP configuration through the manual install, but nope. I followed the instructions of Tuvok's FTP install walkthrough to the letter and I did correctly load all the modules for the nics. I've tried loading them singularly one at a time, all three together, two at a time, etc just to get it to work in any configuration and none seem to pass the DHCP autoconfig point. This is getting very frustrating as for some reason this install of Windowz XP Pro is very problematic and not very stable. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, you have an AMD 64bit?

I don't see why that would have anything to do with dhcp but it might.

I see you've also tried using only one of the nics at a time, which still doesn't work?

I know there are distros out there that have 64bit support, I'm not sure if SuSE is one of them. Maybe try one that does?
