Exclamation dhcp dropping connections

Have just installed my Red Hat 8.0 Linux and used a thread I saw in this forum to set up my wireless connection to the network. I have a WMP11 Linksys wireless PC card.

I get my connections daily using the following after bootup:
#!/bin/bash
modprobe hermes
modprobe orinoco
modprobe orinoco_pci
ifconfig eth0 up
dhclient eth0

----

It is always successful at my connections but after a while especially if I leave the scene it seems to drop my connection to the network . The resolution so far has been to reboot the workstation and rerun the script and I am good.

1. Is there a way I can evaluate my connection and or secure that the connection is as robust as it seems to be maintained in Windows.

In RedHat 8.0, run as root in a terminal window:

redhat-config-network

This should hopefully fix whatever the problem is. The only other thing I can think of is to add your alias to /etc/modules.conf:

alias eth0 orinoco

Or whatever the correct module is for eth0. Hope this helps out some. Keep us posted.
