Dhclient

I am hoping someone has good knowledge of DHCLIENT and can provide help on this one:

When booting up, DHCLIENT usually takes six attempts to obtain an IP address from my ADSL Router (which has DHCP server built in).

My computer has a PCI network card and I wonder if this problem lies in the way the network card is configured in Linux or if there are some settings in DHCLIENT that can help.

I am pretty sure it is not the fault of my ADSL Router as other Debian based Linux machines I have connected to my network get their IP address first go.

If I boot into Windows 2000, it sets up its network pretty quick too.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,
Greenie

Has that card got a broadcom tg3 chipset? I've seen
MANY timing issues with those buggers.

Cheers,
