device does not seems to be present

hi all,

i am using amd-athlon64 6000 processor and asus motherboard since two months to i am facing a problem that i could not able to activate eth0 in my RHEL5 OS, when i excecute the commond

# service network restart


# the device 3com 3c501 does not seems to be present............

i have tried many way but i could not able get what is the problem please help...

What does
lspci | grep Ethernet
give you?
Also, executing
modprobe tulip
is a known solution for this problem. Check it out:
