device automount
Hi,
I wonder what is controlling drive automounting on desktop in Gnome? Why a USB drive shows on desktop once inserted, but correctly formatted eSATA drive does not when turned on? Perhaps something can be done using /etc/fstab, but nothing special is needed for formatted USB, it is just sort of automounting. Is there some daemon and how it can be manipulated? |

Primarily udev daemon/service https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Udev; replaces the old hotplug tech.
