Desktop Sharing between Fedora 17 & openSUSE 12.1

(n00b alert)

Could someone walk me through how to configure DesktopSharing/Remote Access in Fedora 17? I saw the application for it but their documentation didn't say a whole lot about it.

The computer to be accessed would be my desktop running Fedora 17, and the computer to access it would be my laptop running openSUSE 12.1. I believe SSH would be necessary, as I would have to access it from outside my local network from school where internet restriction are abundant. I AM NOT DOING THIS TO HACK. I just want to be able to access my desktop remotely.

Thanks in advance for any help I get

Are you looking to get graphical remote access, or just command line?

If you want command line, SSH will do it by itself, and is probably already installed and set up on Fedora. If you want graphical remote access (similar to Windows remote desktop), then you can look into VNC.

I don't use either Fedora or Suse, but I think suse runs KDE, which I use. And there's an app called krfb which is a very easy to configure desktop sharing tool. Just follow the instructions and see if you can get it running.
All my systems run KDE so I've never tried what I'm suggesting, but do try it if you think it's worth a shot.
