Desktop file in redhat linux enterprise server 6


good morning....

pc: redhat linux enterprise server 6 , 32 bit

could any one tell me, how to get .desktop file in linux redhat server and to launch .desktop file with eclipse. how g-nome is related with .desktop file.

actually , when desktop file is useful to us.

you double click on it in gnome2 .
it is a graphical launcher
and the ".desktop" part of the name is HIDDEN in the special "Desktop" folder
and so is the name in front of the .desktop

the name displayed in the special "Desktop" folder is the name listed in the NAME= section of that text file



they act the exact same as the MS windows version on Windows OS's
