desktop effects could not be enabled linux mint


am running Linux mint ver. 10

I can't enable desktop effects,
where can i see which display driver i use ?
Inside Additional driver all i see is VM VirtualBox Guest additional for linux module

To see what display driver is currently being used, type the following in a terminal session:

lspci | grep VGA

Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

AFAIK the effects are not enabled by default in Linux Mint, although Compiz is installed. Open a terminal and type:
compiz --replace
and see what that tells you.
