dependency problem with snort

Hi..

I am a newly joined member..

My kernel version is 2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686.PAE

When i tried to install snort-2.8.6.1-1.RH5.i386.rpm

its showing like
error: Failed dependencies:
libpcap.so.0.9.4 is needed by snort-1:2.8.6.1-1.i386

but i installed libcap using yum.. again same thing happening.. Can anyone
help me??

Thanks
Greesh

OK well did you install the *right* version of libpcap? You're runnign Fedora 12 yet trying to install an RPM built for Redhat 5? That#'s really not good. Snort *should* be directly availabel through your existing yum repositories, if not, get an fc12 version through a few searches online.
