I am a very new linux user and I just bought a new computer,Dell optiplex GX270,I installed mandrake linux 10 and everything was fine during installation. i.e I was not prompted for any hardware incomatibility. but after rebooting my pc and trying to run my linux for the first time i just saw an ugly screen and im not able to see the logon screen.The problem i think is my linux does not recognize the video driver...so is there any solution plz...i mean can i find any driver so that i will be running my linux desktiop

Tks .I just tried fedora 2 on my pc but again I do have a problem once again.This one says that Ive not installed the x server properly.I tried it again and again but the problem is the same .Idont know why.
For ur information I even trie it on a different version (GX260) dell which is a bit older than mine.Is Dell linux phobic?

As u said that im not lucky coz i was not able to find any pc in my office having p1230 display adapter.Mine is 700B...
Also I was not able to find the file system-config-xfree86 in the /usr/bin directory but i tried to run the /usr/bin/system-config-display and i found the following error message:
Trying with card :intel 865
Error,cannot start X server.
