I don't have a Dell mini, but on my son's Asus Eee, we have to tell the wireless to connect to a different access point when we travel anywhere. Once it is set up to use a certain access point as the default, it will always try to use that. We have to go into Settings and manually pick another access point. It also gives us an option to set that as a temporary setting or make it permanent.
