dell c840 not recognizing intel pro wireless 2200BG

Given: Laptop o/s:Xandros 3.0.3 Business Ed
Hardware: dell c840laptop

Question: How do I get this laptop to recognize this wireless chip. I know from prior research and experience this chip is optimal for this laptop (used it on winxp)

You have been told already that Xandros is severely outdated, totally unsupported and needs to be replaced to get that hardware working, so I wonder why you ask this question again.

I've always had trouble with Dell laptops and Linux. Reason is they (i dont think all) have Broadcom wireless chips. The Linux kernel does not include the driver for Broadcom. You can get the driver from here:

https://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php

More information:
