Dell 1505 laptop need password reset


I bought a used Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop. I can not get into the computer without a password. I don't have the password.

bios/cmos password linux password? windows password?

if its bios/cmos just leave the battery out for a while (works on desktops at least) if its linux i think you can boot from a live cd and change the password in the shadow or passwd file, if windows try safe mode and logging in as administrator or reinstalling os
