Dell 1100 running ubuntu 9.04 in dual boot.

Screen goes blank. Dell Inspiron 1100 with 640 MB , A32 BIOS with 8 MB video. Will only work in 800x600 mode. Also, fails to detect Dynex DX-BNBC wireless card

I have exactly the same problem on a Dell Inspiron 1100 that has almost identical config too. Did you get a resolution to the problem?

What can you do when the screen boot up to blank, besides power it off? Is there a way to boot it into text mode?

I tried many things on this laptop, tried installing various Linux distro on it and got very mixed results. It has been a great learning experience, or a great source of frustration. It is all in the perspective, I guess.
