delete my membership

since the gods of this board have decided that no one is allowed to delete their membership . . . . please remove my membership from LQ . . . I have wasted far too much time during the past two years as I tried 4 different versions of Linux on my laptop . . . I am writing off the entire Linux OS and community as a lost cause

I installed slackware on a laptop identical to yours, without any issues.

You've quit *Linux* after 3 posts.

How many *years* have you spent with Windows?

Your posting history demonstrates how little patience you have.

As per one of your previous posts, YOU should come back in 5 years or so, when YOU are ready for Linux (Linux is already mature enough for the desktop - I've used nothing else for a decade, and have installed it dozens of times in my community, for users just like YOU. I rarely hear from those users regarding *software* issues.)

I'll still be here when you return. Have fun with your viruses, malware, unpatched and delayed-patched exploits. Watch out for other lemmings on your way to the bottom.

To summarize: The issue here is definitely not Linux.

cheers,

OK folks---flogging this person will not bring them back.

For the OP: Please e-mail directly to Jeremy with this kind of question.
