defragging?
do we as linux users need to worry about defragging the harddrive or is that only a concern wih the ntfs file system?
if so, then how does one go about defragging? |
There is no manual defragging necessary, I believe the files are not stored fragmented or they are defragged on the fly.:)

Modern day, journaled file systems do not need to be defragged. Windows uses old technology, but becuase they have a (near) monopoly and there would be some cost involved in switching, they haven't switched.
