Define new hotkeys in Gnome

I like the Gnome GUI but hate using a mouse so I would like to define some new hotkeys to launch my favorite apps.

Any way to add new hotkey defenitions in Gnome to start apps?

RedHat 9 + Ximian Desktop 2

Thanks,
bvl
