Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

i know this thread has been posted already several times, but has anyone finally found out how to change the default browser under gnome???
I want to make opera my default browser, but anytime I klick on a link (e.g. evolution) mozilla starts. opera has no option to make it default browser and in the gnome control center I already entered opera. I also edited the ~/.gnome/Gnome
First, login as root.
Then open /usr/bin/htmlview, and get to the line that originally should look like this: "X11BROWSERS_GNOME="/usr/bin/mozilla /usr/bin/galeon""
to: "X11BROWSERS_GNOME="[path to opera] /usr/bin/galeon""
And that should do it...
